Eye Yoga: the solution to relieve eye fatigue

Thanks to containment measures, our eyes are more likely than ever to be damaged by computer screens and other tablets. They are more tired and need to be pampered. For this reason, there is eye yoga, which is the basic method to relieve eye fatigue.

The benefits of eye yoga

It is often overlooked, but the eyes are made up of six types of muscles called oculomotor muscles. Each of these is responsible for the movement of the eyes: from left to right, up and down and diagonally. Therefore, even if the muscles are weak, it is important to exercise and stimulate them throughout the day. In addition to relieving eye fatigue, eye yoga can also reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as puffiness and dark circles. Above all, this practice prevents eye dryness, which is the cause of the famous red eyes that you can get at the end of the day.

From left to right...

Eye yoga classes are like classic yoga classes, you have to know how to put yourself in the best conditions. The first thing to do is to sit in a comfortable and quiet place and avoid unnecessary noise. Once you have found the ideal position, sit cross-legged. For more comfort, you can sit under a mat or yoga mat. The first exercise is to rotate your head from left to right. You have to find the point that needs to be repaired each time. It can be a decoration, a point on the floor or a detail on the wallpaper. As a result, your neck is more relaxed and your eyes "warm up".

Then, if necessary, slowly move your eyes to the left or right and then back to the centre. Repeat the experience on the other side. If you exercise correctly, your eyes will be tense. Stretching is a good sign. Repeat these actions three times.

... from bottom to top, then diagonally

As in the previous exercise, the objective remains the same: before returning to the centre, look up and down as much as possible for 5 to 10 seconds. Again, do this little exercise three times. Don't forget to maintain a good breath and keep your head straight for best results. The eye muscles also allow for oblique movements. Look in the upper right corner for a few seconds before shifting your gaze to the left. Repeat the exercise on the other axis.

Palming

The palm technique is very simple. Objectives? Put your eyes in total darkness. Rub your hands together until you feel warm. Then place your hands in the shell above your eyes. It is important that the palm of your hand is under your eyes under your bones. Hold this position for one to two minutes, breathe in deeply, then relax.

The acupressing method

Dry eyes are the real scourge of our eyes. Therefore, it is important to stimulate our tear glands with massage techniques. Simply make small circular movements under the eyes for a minute. Then first make circular movements on both eyelids and then massage for one minute at both ends. Like any exercise, eye yoga requires regularity to be effective. The benefits of this method are as follows: It can be practiced anywhere, anytime, and takes only 10 minutes a day. There are many good reasons to start.
